Christmas ParadeNovember 27th
Come welcome Santa back to Louisiana for 2021 He will be ushered in to town by the annual Christmas Parade on November 27th.
Parade line-up starts at 5pm in Sunset Park. The parade steps off at 6pm sharp down Georgia Street. Immediately, upon Santa's arrival downtown the countdown for the Christmas Tree lighting will begin. Kids will get a chance to visit with Santa, while their parents enjoy shopping at the vendor booths and our local shops.Sat, Nov 27th, 2021
Tree Trimming @ Louisiana Area Historical MusemNovember 27th
Come help trim the Christmas tree at the Museum right after the Christmas parade. Warm up with coffee or hot chocolate & cookies ($5 donation). The Museum will be selling 1 lb. Claxton Fruitcakes for $10, along with a variety books & prints of historic Louisiana. Sat, Nov 27th, 2021
Victorian Home Tour December 4th
Join us to experience a Victorian Christmas on December 4th. Five of our most historic houses will be open to welcome visitors. These grand old homes will be dressed up in their Christmas finery, waiting for you to tour.
Tours will take place between 3-7pm. Tickets will not be sold after 6pm and no tours will be given after 7pm.
Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance, and $20 the day of the tour. We respectfully ask that no children under the age of ten and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please reserve your tickets in advance. Once we receive your reservation an email will be sent to you with information on how to pay and where to pick up your tour ticket the day of the tour.

Victorian Christmas CelebrationDecember 11th
Come visit our Victorian town all dressed up for Christmas. Stroll the streets taking in the decorated shop windows. Pause to listen to live Christmas music being performed. Stop in one of our restaurants for a cookie and hot chocolate or perhaps a hot buttered rum.Sat, Dec 11th, 2021
Annual Mid-Town Church WalkDecember 12th
The Annual Louisiana Area Historical Museum Mid-Town Church Walk. Participating churches include: Bethel AME, Christian - Disciples of Christ, First Baptist, Centenary Methodist, Calvary Episcopal, and First Presbyterian. Each church will have a 15 minute Christmas presentation. The walk will end at the Presbyterian Church with refreshments of cider and cookies.Sun, Dec 12th, 2021

Ribs on the RiverOctober 21, 2022
Rescheduled to October 21st & 22nd, 2022 due to the Delta Variant of Covid. Join us for Ribs on the River. Ribs on the River is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event. There will be bands, a pie competition, corn hole tournament, and a Masters Barbecue Cook Off!
